Prerequisites:

This advanced course focuses on the pathophysiological processes underlying acute and chronic conditions encountered in paramedic practice. Students analyze how disease alters normal physiology across major body systems, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and gastrointestinal. Case-based learning connects theoretical knowledge to clinical scenarios, enhancing diagnostic reasoning and decision-making. By the end of the course, students will be able to interpret signs and symptoms in the context of underlying pathology and apply this understanding to guide prehospital interventions.
